Welcome to ISAAC Ireland
ISAAC Ireland are the Irish Chapter of ISAAC (the International Society for AAC). The overall aim of ISAAC is to both improve the life of children and adults with speech difficulties along with promoting AAC so that it is known about across the world.
ISAAC International started in 1983 and has thousands of members in 50 countries. 14 countries have groups called Chapters, in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, French speaking countries and regions, German speaking countries and regions, Ireland, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands and Flanders, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. ISAAC members are people who use AAC, their families, therapists, teachers, doctors, researchers, and people who make communication aids.
Every two years ISAAC international hosts the Biennial Conference. This is a forum for people who use AAC and are interested in AAC across many countries to come together to share knowledge, information and socialise. The 14th Biennial conference is in Barcelona, Spain and is taking place from the 24th - 31st July 2010.
